Over the past few years, Austin Psych Fest has been providing a nice alternative to SXSW for fans of psychedelic-flavored rock and roll and noisy pop music, but their 2015 lineup for Levitation is just some next level shit.
Nearly 40 bands have been announced for the May 8 to 10 freakout at Carson Creek Ranch in Austin, Texas, including the Jesus & Mary Chain (performing 1985 classic Psychocandy in its entirety, no big deal), Tame Impala, Spiritualized, Primal Scream, the Black Angels, thee Oh Sees, Nothing, the Soft Moon, METZ, A Place To Bury Strangers, Lightning Bolt, Night Beats, Melody’s Echo Chamber, the Sword, Mac DeMarco, the Flaming Lips…

Oh, and lastly, the Primal Scream appearance and the Mary Chain’s 20th anniversary Psychocandy set bode well for full North American tours from those bands next year as well. Fingers crossed.
