Mic Drop, Puck Drop: Do617 Bru Cru series kicks off tonight with Tigerman WOAH

There are two things that go very well together in the city of Boston, but rarely ever party as one: watching hockey, and playing rock and roll.

Our sister site Do617 aims to fix that with tonight’s launch of the Bru Cru series at McGann’s Pub in North Station, which combines a love for hockey and music at a party where the two don’t compete with each other. When the game is on at the Garden next door, we watch the game. The live guest performs three sets — during the first intermission, again for the second intermission, and then after the game, which no doubt will be a victory celebration.

The kickoff party arrives tonight, and Do617 has enlisted Tigerman WOAH to bring the live racket as the hometown Black n’ Gold take on those annoying flight-less birds from Pittsburgh.

There is NO COVER to this rock and roll show and hockey viewing party, and the festivities begin when the game starts up, around 7 p.m. EST.

Future Bru Cru bands to round out the year include The Shills and We Were Astronauts, so stay tuned for those date announcements. There’s already a bit of a waiting list to play these shows, but if your band wants to join the party in 2015, hit up Do617 to get on the ice.

Game on. Rock on.
