Over the weekend everyone lost their collective shit over the possibility of of a Sleater-Kinney reunion, and now we pretty much have everything we need: details on a new record, No Cities to Love, out January 20 via SubPop; a new song, “Bury Our Friends,” listenable below; and a full-on reunion tour, which hits Boston’s House of Blues on February 22.
Holy smokes.
That’s a lot to take in, and certainly makes up for the band’s eight-year absence.
“Bury Our Friends” is a pretty classic guitar-rock track from the band, which is also releasing a box set tomorrow via SubPop, and the video features Vermont writer/filmmaker Miranda July.
Here’s more info: “No Cities to Love available for pre-order on CD / LP / DL through the Sub Pop Mega Mart, iTunes, Amazon, and Sleater-Kinney’s website. A limited, deluxe edition on white, 180-gram vinyl will also be available. The deluxe LP version features a tri-fold jacket encased in an outer slipcover, and includes two bonus tracks on a single-sided 12” with an etching on the b-side.”
