Serious Moonlighting: Listen to Little Daylight’s electro-pop cover of David Bowie’s ‘Let’s Dance’

Yesterday we all gagged watching British singer Rita Ora cover David Bowie’s “Fashion” at the 2014 Fashion Rocks concert in Brooklyn. Now, we have New York electro-pop trio Little Daylight restoring balance to the Bowie-verse with their take on “Let’s Dance,” one of the best Thin White Duke covers we’ve heard in quite some time.

Premiering on Earmilk this morning, Little Daylight modernize the Bowie ’80s classic but also pay tribute to the new wave of that era, and the result is an infectious, bubbly, easy-glide electro cover that demands a few proper spins.

No word on whether Little Daylight will incorporate this into their live sets, but we’ll soon find out as the band plays Great Scott in Allston on Monday, September 15. It’ll get a bit emotional for this writer, as I used to spin Little Daylight’s “Glitter & Gold” every week during the last year of The Pill, Great Scott’s famed indie dance party that held court every Friday from 2004 to this past December.

Reminisce to the good old days.
