Pond Hopper: Listen to the new Krill-infused single from London band Brunch

Monday morning reminder: Krill is not only forever, it’s also international.

Back in March, former Krill drummer Luke Pyenson hooked up with a new band while studying for his Master’s degree in London. The band was called Brunch, they were looking for a drummer, and they were fans of Boston’s beloved underground guitar-rock heroes.

“It’s crazy how it came about,” Pyenson tells Vanyaland earlier today. “They’re Krill fans, found out I was living here, and emailed Krill more or less asking if I’d join their new project cause they needed a drummer.”

Fast-forward a few months, and Brunch are set to self-release a new self-titled EP. The first single off that record, out tomorrow, is “Sea Toad,” which you can listen to below via Bandcamp. It’s got a little bit of Krill DNA in there, but with a much more British-pop sound. Obviously, we dig the fuck out of it.

Brunch have a few Stateside dates lined up for late September and early October, and we’ll pass those along as soon as they’re made public. Meanwhile, Krill is scheduled to perform at the Pretty & Nice farewell show this Saturday at Great Scott alongside Ava Luna and Infinity Girl.
