Dry Hideaway: Watch Kiesza take it to the streets on the Late Show with David Letterman

Part of the immediate charm of Kiesza’s “Hideaway” music video is its single-frame shot of the Canadian singer dancing through the streets of New York. So a unique opportunity presented itself last night on the Late Show With David Letterman, where Kiesza was able to mimic her breakout video, which is now past the 50-million-view mark on YouTube.

Midway through performing her house-inspired club hit, the Berklee College of Music graduate made her way through the crowd (they seemed uneasy about this) and out into the New York streets, where she continued her dance routine before doing the single most NYC thing possible: get doused by a gushing fire hydrant.

That’s street right there.

When the lady born Kiesa Rae Ellestad in 1989 returned to the stage of the Ed Sullivan Theater, Letterman offered up, “That was great — you’re soaking wet for Heaven’s sake!”

Aren’t we all.
