For years now, Faces On Film have felt like Boston’s best-kept secret, and one that we wouldn’t have all to ourselves much longer. With March’s release of Elite Lines, it seems we’re closer than ever to sharing the musical brilliance of Faces On Film mastermind Mike Fiore.
With two pretty incredible Cambridge gigs coming up, Faces On Film yesterday dropped the visually-stunning new music video for latest single “The Rule,” and it’s a skillful combination of live action and animation created by director Carlos Lopez Estrada, who has worked with Passion Pit, Capital Cities, and Reptar.
The video shows a city in flames, only to be saved by the oncoming flood, while Fiore’s delicate, experimental indie glides along.
Faces on Film will play Redstar Union on May 29 with When Particles Collide and Sarah Rabdau & the Self-Employed Assassins for the latest in the Fresh series, curated by the Boston Herald’s Jed Gottlieb, and then the Sinclair on June 26 with Marissa Nadler and Gem Club. Fiore is also in New York tonight; check out the full run of upcoming shows below
