Brooklyn’s Exploding in Sound Records — which recently joined the Frenchkiss label group and is home to many Boston bands — has released a new 16-track 2013 // 2014 Sampler, and it’s a pretty good indication of the sound they’ve curated over the past year or so. Massachusetts’ Grass Is Green, Pile, and Krill (pictured above), among others, are featured, and the whole thing is available on a pay-what-you-want basis.
“Words can’t really describe how I feel about all these bands and everything everyone down with EIS has helped us accomplish so far,” EIS wrote online. “Just check out all this great music and please be sure to share if friends!! Click on the individual songs, because nearly everyone is going on tour starting… about… NOW.”
Use the comp as a compass for SXSW, as Exploding In Sound are throwing a BBQ at Todd’s Mansion on March 13 down in Austin, starring the aforementioned trio of bands as well as Boston’s Guerilla Toss, Designer, Bad History Month, Free Pizza, and others. Check the Facebook event for more details, or scan the flyer after the Bandcamp jump.
