Earlier in the week we posted the debut video from Vanya Records’ electronic pop duo Confessions, and now we’re closing the work week by keeping it within the #456 family. Massachusetts psych-punk trio the New Highway Hymnal are following up last year’s breakthrough LP Whispers with the Reverb Room EP, due out November 21 on our in-house label, Vanya.
To celebrate the new release and their show tonight at O’Brien’s Pub in Allston with Night Beats, Thunderbloods and Gymshorts, Hymnal have unveiled the music video for their latest single, the swirling psych groove-jam “Isolation.”
The video was produced by RedHotBox Studios; directed by Zack Schaefer with cinematography by Mary Lee Desmond. Art direction was provided by Peter Colpack & the Lysergic Factory Lightshow, and if you’ve ever attended a live New Highway Hymnal show, you’ll recognize the head trip.
Reverb Room gets the release party treatment on November 21 at Redstar Union in Kendall Square, Cambridge, on a live-streamed bill with Ghost Box Orchestra. It’s hosted and curated by Brian E. King of Parks.
