Born out of the Allston basement scene in 2011 after launching three years prior as a reputable online music website, Exploding In Sound has developed a pretty sterling reputation for putting out quality underground guitar-pop, backing releases from Speedy Ortiz, Ovlov, Grass Is Green, Fat History Month, and Pile (pictured above). Today it was announced that the Frenchkiss Label Group has added Dan Goldin and Dave Spak’s label to its ever-expanding roster.
“Everything EIS does is done out of genuine love for the bands that they represent,” Frenchkiss says. “The goal is to make an impact both musically and culturally, through nothing more than good music.”
The announcement was made official this afternoon, and Syd Butler’s label didn’t let a rock and roll hangover delay the news.
Completely dead after two nights of Local Natives at Terminal 5. So. Many. Feelings. But a wise woman once said we can’t stop & we won’t stop, so without further ado please welcome our newest family member Exploding in Sound Records!
EIS is a New York based label and they have a bunch of cool bands like Palehound and Porches. Learn more about them HERE.
TTYL!
Exploding in Sound have a pretty sweet showcase lined up at Silent Barn in Broklyn on October 19, featuring many of the aforementioned bands as well as the likes of Krill and Bad History Month.
Here’s a sampling of some of our favorite sounds off the label…
