Forty-four bands, that’s a lot of music. The lineup for Boston Hassle’s first New England Underground Music Fest was announced this week, and it’s quite a doozy: 44 bands across two days and four venues in Cambridge and Somerville.
Day 1, October 4 at the Elks Lodge, features 18 bands and is highlighted by Coke Weed (who we just featured in a road trip mix for the Guardian), Pile, Gem Club, Quilt and Neptune, while Day 2, October 5 at the Democracy Center, is led (in our opinion, at least) by Ovlov, Chris Strunk, and Guerilla Toss. Both nights come equipped with after parties: Saturday at Radio, and Sunday at the Lilypad.
“In just a few weeks we will be bridging the many different art and music scenes that are spread out across the New England region,” wrote the good folks at Boston Hassle.
“Featuring about 40+ bands that we think you should hear from Maine, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Vermont, you will encounter the freshest electronic, noise, rock, punk, psychedelic and left of center music during our two-day extravaganza.”
Things start at 3pm each day, are all-ages (except Saturday’s afterparty) and have a $10-$15 sliding scale cover. Sample some tunes, then check out the full lineups for all four shows.
