Last month Sammy “Babydude” Yager was seriously injured in a bicycle accident in his hometown of Saratoga Springs, New York, and remains in a coma. Though he’s showing remarkable progress in his rehabilitation, he still faces a long road ahead and, of course, a mounting pile of medical bills. Vanyaland has teamed up with Every Day Is A Mixtape — who recently released a cassette from Birthdays, Yager’s electronic music project — to throw a benefit show next week, August 21, at Great Scott. It’s a community effort, and all money raised will go to the Samuel Yager Fund, established by Shane Artsy.
This past Friday, Dreamhaus held a successful Sammyfest, and we hope to keep that positive vibe going. Joining us on Wednesday are Pretty & Nice, Earthquake Party, the New Highway Hymnal, and Yale, Massachusetts. We’ll have a rotating cast of DJs, including myself, Kevin Fowler of Every Day Is A Mixtape, and Mike Caulo of Sippy Cup Everything.
The cover is $8, but anyone can chop in extra if they want to. Here is the Facebook invite.
