Editor’s Note: Back in June 2016, Dorothy released their debut album ROCKISDEAD via Roc Nation, and when they rolled into town for a gig with The Struts, we asked them about it. “We’re just being funny!” vocalist and namesake Dorothy Martin told us. “I’ve just been hearing everybody say that rock and roll is dead and that it died in the ’80s, but …there’s always rock and roll!” It was no laughing matter this past Friday (January 12) at The Paradise Rock Club, where Dorothy returned to Boston on their own headlining “Freedom” tour, barnstorming through North American venues like the rock and roll blitz they’ve become. Vanyaland’s Matthew Shelter was all over the ‘Dise to capture action shots of the animated rock band, and you can flip through his full gallery below. Vive le rock.
