In an episode airing tonight in the U.K., Jessie J made quite the revelation on The Graham Norton Show this week, and it had nothing to do with her recent album Sweet Talker, her “Bang Bang” collaboration with Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande, or her royalties from having written Miley Cyrus’ “Party In The U.S.A.”
Nope, it had to do with some unfortunate ink on her skin.
Jessie told the British talk show host that she has a misspelled tattoo on her waist — and she goes to great lengths to keep it hidden from public view, relying on high-waisted pants and other slick sartorial cover-ups.
“I did it ages ago and had ‘Don’t lose who you are in the blur of the star!’ tattooed on my side,” she told Norton, via MTV UK. “Not long after I had it done my mum said to me in tears, ‘I don’t know how to tell you this but it is spelt wrong.'”
Uh-oh.
She added: “I have ‘Don’t loose who you are in the blur of the stars!’ It’s really big which is awful.”
A trip back to the tattoo parlor is in order for the soon-to-be judge of The Voice, Australia. “It’s the reason I always wear high waisted stuff,” Jessie J says. “I’m not going to put a spelling mistake that close to a camera! I’m going to get it covered and I’m not having any more tattoos.”
Three weeks ago the British singer posted a photo of herself at the beach on Instagram, and if you look close enough, you can see the tattoo on her right waist.
