And today we suddenly awake to new music from David Bowie.
“Sue (Or In A Season Of Crime)” premiered this weekend on BBC Radio 6 show Guy Garvey’s Finest Hour, and it’s a seven-minute song that’s a bit bizarre and random. The track will be featured on Bowie’s forthcoming compilation Nothing Has Changed, and a radio rip has surfaced for those of us who missed the radio broadcast. “Sue” starts up at the 1:08 mark.
“Here’s another thing I never thought I’d find myself saying,” Garvey says before the premiere. “Time now for the first play, anywhere ever in the world on the radio, of David Bowie’s new song. It’s called “Sue,” it’s seven and a half minutes of glorious Bowie-esque drama and it’s my absolute privilege to play it on 6 music, the greatest radio station on Earth. Ladies and gentlemen, David Bowie and Sue…”.
Bowie’s camp then posted the lyrics to the track on his official Facebook page, which you can read here.
Billed as a “definitive collection,” Nothing Has Changed is out November 18 via Columbia Records and Legacy Recordings. It’ll be released as 3xCD, 2xCD, double-vinyl album, digital download, and a 10-inch Record Store day release (November 28) that will feature the new tracks, including “Sue”.
