First We Take Manhattan: Boston’s South by Northeast announce ‘For Liberty’s Sake’ in NYC

During SXSW in March, Boston event production team South By Northeast brought their musical ruckus down to Austin, Texas, for one of the best parties we attended all week. A month or so later, their Boston Clawing show in Faneuil Hall provided a nice locally-minded afterparty to the nearby Boston Calling. And over the summer, SXNE’s Newport Nights added a bit of boozy flair to the Rhode Island folk fest going on down the street.

Now, South By Northeast are taking on New York City, right smack dab during CMJ. For Liberty’s Sake goes down Saturday, October 25, at Carroll Place on Bleecker Street in Greenwich Village, and it’s free with your RSVP and you don’t need no stinkin’ badges to get in.

Presented by Narragansett Beer, For Liberty’s Sake features Aloud, the Rationales, the Nate Leavitt Band, OldJack, Le Roxy Pro, Tigerman WOAH, and the Silks.

“With this being a new addition to the South by Northeast roster of showcases, we are excited to be able to offer some of the folks who have been there since the first one more opportunities to be seen,” says SXNE curator and co-founder Dan Nicklin. “We are also excited to bring a few new bands into the family. The rising tide! It’s also great to have Narragansett on board to help spread the New England love even further and of course we’re thrilled to have Frank Germano back on the art!”
