Ever since it dropped last month, we’ve been wildly in <3 with Child Actor’s new single “Against The Night.” It gets spun regularly on Vanya Radio, and we play the video — oh, that video — on a constant loop.
The sweet, sunny synth-pop ballad was the lead single off the Boston/New Haven duo’s new record, Never Die, which was supposed to be released late this month, July 15. But something has gone bump in the night and the record’s release has been delayed until September 2. The band posted a detailed message on their Facebook page, which you can also read below.
To hold us over, Max Heath and Natalie Plaza have unveiled two new remixes of “Against The Night” for free download. The first, from AOBeats, gives the song a new kind of wobble, which the second, from BLVCK CEILING, gives it a more gentle, paranoid hum.
Check out — and download — both remixes via the Child Actor Soundcloud, after the jump.
Hey Everyone!
First of all, thank you all so much for supporting Child Actor’s new single “Against The Night”. The feedback I received from the video was incredible. In fact, you all did such a good job telling people about Child Actor that we came upon a really incredible opportunity that’s going to (we think) help really propel the album.
So, good news/bad news. The good news is, well – Child Actor will have some really cool news to share with all of you, really soon. (I can’t tell if I’m just this excited, or if I turned the A/C up too high…) The bad news is, well… that because of the good news, they have to push the album release back to September 2nd, 2014. (It’ll be totally worth it. Pinky promise. I know many of you were looking forward to the July release, but I had to make this call. So if you’re like, “C’mon dude, I’ve been waiting forever for this album.” – blame it on the management, not Child Actor.)
In the meantime, just to bridge the gap, here are Child Actor’s official remixes of “Against The Night”, and they’re both free downloads. Special thanks to BLVCK CEILING and AOBeats for their hard work, and RD White at Twin Peaks Studios for his mixing and mastering skills.
Seriously, you all have been nothing short of amazing, and because of your support, we’re getting like, “Mean Girls / LiLo” popular. *tosses hair, omg*. Enjoy the remixes.
