We’ve received a fuckton of press releases from Montreal electro-funk duo Chromeo over the years, but this one takes the cake. Apparently Dave 1 and P-Thugg have now become partners in a fledgling Canadian airline called Mallard Air, which, as Spin points out, has only a pretty wonky website and a snarky twitter account.
Mallard Air claims to have “10 hubs in the Midwest and an additional 3 in the Canadian Prairies, serving as a budget-conscious alternative for the upwardly mobile American traveler.” We’ve asked a few people with ties to the Midwest (don’t ask) and they’ve never heard of it. But hey, at the request of Chromeo themselves, “boutique service to Montreal, Minneapolis and Beirut in its newly acquired Airbus A3xx series fleet” is well on the way.

The press release, by the way, came from Atlantic Records, which just adds to the lulz.
Back in May, the Daily Dot caught wind of the Mallard Air twitter connected a few dots, and linked it to the comedy website Funny or Die. Mallard Air denied any affiliation, claimed to be a real airline, and that’s the last we’ve heard from it. Until they brought Chromeo on board.
