When Brad Paisley brings his Country Nation World Tour to the Xfinity Center in Manfield this summer, we’re pretty sure no one here in Massachusetts will be outside protesting. Which is a shame, really, because Paisley has a pretty good sense of humor about these sorts of things.
Yesterday before a show in someplace called Bonner Springs, Kansas, Paisley approached a bunch of protestors from the Westboro Baptist Church. The 41-year-old country star took a selfie with the protestors, who kinda seemed happy to take part. Just look at those smiles below! Paisley posted the selfie, along with a short video of the incident, to his Instagram.
We’re told Paisley has a fairly popular song called “Alcohol,” which is probably the reason the Westboro folk are holding up a sign that reads “God Hates Drunks” (note the backwards “R” because oops — we’re wasted lol zomg!)
Paisley wrote on social media: “Westboro Baptist Selfie!! Or west-Burro(ass) selfie. Hopefully they can hear the show out here. We’ll play loud.”
The Country Nation World Tour comes to the Xfinity Center on August 23 and features Paisley, Dee Jay Silver, Charlie Worsham, Randy Houser, and Leah Turner. No we’ve never heard of any of them.
And the video of the selfie in action…
