With all the recent hype around the new Star Wars films — oh shit, Standard Gabriel from Drive was cast! — we knew this wouldn’t be just any old May The Fourth. Northern Irish band Ash are no strangers to celebrating Star Wars, and today posted up a pair of tunes for our free and legal downloading pleasures, including their classic “Cantina Band” cover.
“ASH grew up with Star Wars,” the band wrote. “We lived and breathed Star Wars. We named an album 1977 after the year Star Wars [A New Hope] was released. So on this May 4th, and with new movies on the horizon, we wish you Happy Star Wars Day, and gift to you… THERE IS HOPE AGAIN.”
Let’s hope Gabriel doesn’t need to rob any pawn shops in the Tatooine valley…
