With the recent success of bands like Alabama Shakes and Dr. Dog, it’s about time that Boston’s Aloud start to get their due on a national level. That could be the payoff with new record It’s Got To Be Now, which drops April 1 via New York-based Mother West Records with the release party arriving a month or so later, May 9 at the Middle East in Cambridge. They are joined on the latter by the Bynars, and tickets are on sale now.
To get us all jazzed up for the record — the band’s fourth studio effort — and its release party, Aloud this week dropped the second single off the new record, the fiery vintage rock title track that’s a bluesy little stomper of a tune.

Much of Aloud’s It’s Got To Be Now was recorded live at Mad Oak Studios, so there’s not too much variation between the studio cut and what we’ll hear on stage at the Middle East in May. Here’s the title track once again, live from the Monkey House. No, that’s not your office they’re referring to.
