Boston-born Lake Street Dive had the distinction last week of being the only band ever to have sold out shows coming up at both the Sinclair (this past Friday night) and Royale (April 6). Though the buzzy indie-jazz band — who performed at the Inside Llewyn Davis tribute concert — is now based in Brooklyn, this is still home turf after forming at the New England Conservatory in the mid-2000s.
To help determine just exactly how far you’ll go to get into the hot-ticket Royale show, check out their recent appearance last week on the Late Show With David Letterman.
After their performance of “Bad Self Portraits,” Dave himself proclaims: “Are you kidding me? That was wonderful! Come back every night — can you do that?”
We haven’t seen that kinda enthusiasm from the late-night TV host since he blew his load all over the Orwells a few weeks ago.
