Foster The People get us thinking ’bout Coachella in laid-back new single ‘Coming Of Age’

We admit we weren’t keeping up on Foster The People over the past year or so. But when we saw the “Pumped Up Kicks” so-called “indie” band with large-font billing on last week’s Coachella lineup poster — next to Lorde and Pharrell, and above MGMT, Nas, and the Pet Shop Boys — we figured new music was on the way and 2014 would serve as some sort of re-acquaintance.

And here it is — laid back new single “Coming Of Age” finally dropped today complete with new music video, two years after FTP crashed the scene with the Grammy-nominated Torches LP. It doesn’t have the same immediate pull of their breakout hit or underrated follow-up “Helena Beat,” but it’s a pretty chill track that’s got us thinking of the warm weather. It’s a harmless little reminder that this trio still exists, and no doubt shit will be everywhere by the time April rolls around.

Supermodel will hit shelves of all kinds on March 14 via Columbia Records, and we expect the next single to be the real gem of that record.

In the meantime, hey Foster The People, welcome back.
