It didn’t take long after Converse announced it’s Rubber Tracks Boston series that new music started surfacing from some of our city’s finest bands. While we await the new Converse HQ down by the water sometime in 2015, the sneaker and lifestyle company took residence at Q Division in Somerville, bringing in the likes of Color Channel, Young Adults, and the Deep North to record new material on the fly.

Now with a show Sunday night at T.T. The Bear’s Place in Cambridge, the Deep North have unveiled the aural fruits of their rubbery labor in epic new single, “Waves.” It continues the band’s knack for emotive, over-arching rock songs that immediately burst through the speakers.

“This was a really challenging, exciting experiment for us,” says guitarist Nick Twohig. “We wrote the entire song the night before, and then tracked the instruments live at Q Division the next day. Aside from doubling some guitar parts, you’re listening to one complete take.”
