Finally Something Good Comes Out Of Florida: Listen to FSU’s AcaBelles cover Lorde’s ‘Royals’

Oh Sunshine State, you have so much to answer for. But in the meantime, we’ll let you off the hook for a minute after you’ve graced the world with a fine a cappella cover of Lorde’s ubiquitous pop smash “Royals.” The Florida State University AcaBelles threw down their rendition of the New Zealander’s hit back on November 6, and it’s steadily approaching 4 million views on YouTube.

Good work.

This is the best thing to come out of FSU since Warrick Dunn, and this morning it was featured on Good Morning America.

Clearly, it’s almost as good as the clown cover from a few weeks ago.

According to the Huffington Post: “The unique take on the smash hit song by the all-female, college a cappella group was performed recently at The Vocal Company’s acappellaEd program in Orlando, Fla., and has definitely earned the highest marks from all of us here.”
