Last Halloween at Hojoko, Vanyaland got under the covers. This year, we’re back from the undead with a ghoulish batch of originals.
Join us on Halloween night (October 31), as HalloVVeen 2018 returns to Fenway’s favorite izakaya, featuring live performances by two homegrown standouts making some killer noise in the Boston music scene: The riveting synthwave of Trlogy and the darkened synth-pop of House of Harm. The night closes with a late-night dance party set by Hojoko familiars CLLCTV.
Both bands are no stranger to the pink-ink digital pages of Vanyaland.
We are in <3 with both of Trlogy’s debut singles, the Boston Music Awards’ Song of the Year nominee “Electric Flame” and the recent follow-up “Time Machine”. Each exhibit a flawless strain of electronic pop whose shades of neon properly reflect this here website.

The more post-punk-leaning House of Harm have captured our hearts and imagination with their stark brand of electronic-pop, particularly on tracks like “Isolator” and “Cuts You Inside”, which provide dark pop for dark times. The duo find a glow of melody in the corner shadows, and we explored House of Harm’s coldwave sound before their May appearance with Editors at the Paradise Rock Club.

Preview both bands via the embeds above, and be sure to RSVP to the event. It’s a free party, but you gotta be on the list to party with the dead.
Costumes encouraged.
Raise hell.
