When we caught wind of an Arctic Monkeys’ North American tour a few weeks back — a run that brings the British band to TD Garden on July 27 — it didn’t take an intrepid Alex Turner fan-fiction writer to assume a new album would be on way in relatively short order.
Today, we have the news: Arctic Monkeys’ sixth album, Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino, will be out May 11.
Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino will feature 11 songs, with titles like “The World’s First Ever Monster Truck Front Flip,” “American Sports,” and “The Ultracheese.” It was produced by James Ford and Turner, and recorded in Los Angeles, Paris, and London. It’s the Arctic’s first LP since 2013’s AM.
