Studio 52 is a community artist space located in the heart of Allston, and is proud to support the Boston music scene and local artist community.
This Friday night, Worshipper and Tom Baker and the Snakes will be throwing down at Justine and the Unclean’s record release blowout at ONCE Ballroom and Lounge, a party hosted by Boston’s Rum Bar Records.
Turns out, some of the members of those bands as well as the label have a bit of a surprise leading up to it: New music from The Dirty Truckers.
The celebrated Boston rock n’ roots quartet, who released four records between 2001 and 2012, will drop a new compilation titled Best Of in January via Rum Bar, and the lead track is a new composition titled “Like Him.” The new jam was recorded by the Truckers lineup heard on 2008 album Loose In The Joints. Hear it below.
Meanwhile, the Dirty Truckers’ Best Of will feature 22 songs, including, according Rum Bar, “a brand new barn burner of an anthem, the single ‘Like Him’, along with unearthed unreleased material and all the classic hits that prob most of the world didn’t know anyways.” There’s also covers of The Replacements “Can’t Hardly Wait” and Steve Earle’s “Hardcore Troubadour.”
The Best Of release party is also set in motion, and it goes down February 23 at O’Brien’s Pub in Allston with special guests Tad Overbaugh and Michael Kane & The Morning Afters.
But hey, we’ll worry about all that after Friday.
