As Stephen King’s fabled town Castle Rock comes to life in the forthcoming Hulu series of the same name, the show is seeking out extras next week (Tuesday, July 18) in Orange, Massachusetts.
Slate Casting, whose headquarters are here in Boston, has posted a flyer inviting actors to audition for roles as extras at the Orange Town Hall Auditorium, located at 6 Prospect St. #1 in Orange. The open call runs from 3 to 7 p.m. A separate tab on the website breaks down the details of the open casting, from the pay ($11 per hour for non-union workers) to how long the work day is (usually 12 hours).
“Our open call will be a chance to get your photo taken to be considered for work on the show as well as hear a little more about our process for casting extras,” states the application form. Slate defines extras work as “a person in the show that does not have a speaking line. Extras are used to make the scene look real.”
To audition, prospective extras must be at least 18, and doors to the open casting close at 7 p.m. Interested parties who cannot attend can submit their headshot and information to be considered via this Google doc.
Based on the stories of King, Hulu’s Castle Rock is produced by Star Wars: The Force Awakens director J.J. Abrams, and will star Sissy Spacek, André Holland, Jane Levy, Bill Skarsgard and others. Watch the first teaser trailer below.
