It’s pretty obvious, based on their own body of work, that Foo Fighters will be still rocking out decades from now, a bunch of old dudes jamming everywhere from the local senior center to whatever space-aged arenas host our sports teams.
Thursday morning (June 1) we get a glimpse into this future with a surprise new Foo Fighters single and video for “Run”. The rocket-charged single is a jolt of energy from the Foos, and the Dave Grohl-directed video shows a bunch of older folk in a nursing home throwing down like they did in their youth.
There’s even some proper Bad Grandpa headlock action.
It’s unclear whether this new guitar-rock jam is part of a new album, a stand-alone single, or maybe a foreshadowing of some more Sonic Highways goodness, but as Foo Fighters spend the summer playing festivals and touring Europe, we do know there will be some freshness to the set lists. Even if it makes the old people rumble.
