Welcome to the eye of PVRIS’ storm.
The Lowell trio capped off a huge 2016 by scoring three above-the-fold awards at December’s Boston Music Awards — including Artist of the Year and Song Of The Year, for “You & I” — and now are bracing for an even bigger year ahead.
It was revealed a few weeks back that PVRIS were set to spend the spring and summer not only touring Australia and playing big-ticket festivals like Hangout and Life Is Beautiful, but also crashing North America with MUSE and 30 Seconds To Mars. And now it’s confirmed they will be delivering new music to the masses as well.
Monday afternoon, they released towering new single “Heaven,” and the uber-polished, atmospheric alt-pop banger is the first taste of their new album, All We Know Of Heaven, All We Need Of Hell. The follow-up to their breakout 2014 debut White Noise is out August 4, and you can pre-order it here.
Check out these simmering numbers, from the presser: “With All We Know Of Heaven, All We Need Of Hell, PVRIS will look to build upon the success of White Noise and a collection of songs that’ve amassed over 122 million Spotify streams and close to 33 million YouTube views to date (including 17 million Spotify streams and 3.8 million YouTube views for their ‘You And I’ single). In support of White Noise, the band performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, were spotlighted on Last Call with Carson Daly, toured arenas with Fall Out Boy, hit No. 1 on Billboard’s ‘Emerging Artists’ and ‘Trending 140′ charts and launched a headline tour that saw them play to packed-house crowds around the world.”
The video for “Heaven” was co-directed by PVRIS vocalist Lynn Gunn and longtime visual collaborator Raul Gonzo. Watch it below, and find all of PVRIS’ live dates after the jump. Featured photo by Eliot Lee Hazel.
