Editor’s Note: The more-than-likely last Boston Calling at City Hall Plaza is in the books, but not before we take a look back at Sunday’s action. Rumors swirled that UK pop crooner Sam Smith would be joining headliners Disclosure on stage for the British pop duo’s headlining set, but that never materialized; instead we got a thumper of a set of the band’s familiar hits, and plenty of weekend ravers twirling lit-up hoola-hoops seemed to love it. Elsewhere, Janelle Monae and HAIM proved they are festival headliners, and spirited sets from Charles Bradley, Vince Staples, and Christine And The Queens warmed up an otherwise frigid spring day. Local noise was delivered perfectly by Michael Christmas, These Wild Plains, and Black Beach. We’ll let Barry Thompson tell the rest of the day’s tales in his Night 3 review, coming soon, but in the meantime gaze at Eddy Leiva’s full-day gallery from Government Center.
