Tonight, beginning at 8:00pm EST on VanyaRadio, the Voltage Factory will be playing nothing but Prince for two hours straight. The legendary performer was found dead today at his home in Minneapolis; he was 57. Hosted by Michael Christopher, the Voltage Factory typically features the heavier end of the VanyaRadio spectrum, but has also paid tribute to David Bowie, Scott Weiland and Motörhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister in recent months following their untimely passings.
“I think Prince’s death hits the hardest,” said Christopher. “He transcended genres like no other, and was such an enigmatic personality with so many sides to his personality that always found their way into the music. Tonight I’ll be spinning music from all over his catalog, including some rarely heard tracks. It’s overwhelmingly somber event, but the show tonight is going to be a celebration, and as usual, it might get loud.”
