Last time Neon Indian was in town, it was a night of Netflix and chillwave at the Paradise Rock Club, as the electronic music project led by Alan Palomo lit up the Boston venue with a dazzling array of sounds and sights. Later this month, Palomo takes his beats to the DJ both, as he spins the local stop on the first-ever Cocktail Magic, a craft cocktail tour that comes to the Castle at Park Plaza on March 26.
Launched by Superfly, the co-founders and co-producers of festivals like Bonnaroo and Outside Lands, Cocktail Magic is designed to showcase the best in each city’s cocktail scene, from the drinks themselves to those who make them. The Boston party follows one a week earlier at Clover Club in New York City, DJ’d by Baio, with other events to follow. The drink lineup is pretty spectacular, but we’re mostly psyched to get some Neon Indian action back in the Hub.
“This event will be a cocktail destination unlike any other, a place to experience the very best in American cocktail culture,” says Superfly co-founder Kerry Black in a press release. “Cocktail Magic pairs pioneers in the industry with delicious eats, great music and bold décor in a completely original way. At Superfly, we are always thinking about ways to take the things we personally love and translate them into an out of this world event. Cocktail Magic promises to be just that.”
Taking part in Cocktail Magic are Alden & Harlow, Drink, Eastern Standard Kitchen & Drinks, Hojoko, The Baldwin Bar at Sichuan Garden, The Hawthorne, and others, including representation from the other cities.
