Boston psych-folk quartet Quilt played out in Los Angeles with Luna last month at the Teragram Ballroom, and earlier this week, video from that October 24 live performance was broadcast on NBC’s Last Call with Carson Daly.
The “live guest” aspect of Daly’s show takes a different approach from other late-night programs; instead of bringing a band in-studio to perform a song or two, Last Call sends a production crew out to a local gig around Los Angeles to capture the music in a realistic setting. Late Wednesday night — or very early Thursday morning, technically, due to Last Call’s 1:35 a.m. start time in Massachusetts — the spotlight shined on Quilt, who are set to release their third LP, Plaza, this February via Mexican Summer Records.
In the three videos below, watch Quilt perform Plaza’s hypnotic first single, “Eliot St.”, as well as some older tracks, like “Arctic Shark” from 2014’s Held In Splendor LP and “Open Eyes,” a song released in 2013 on a split 7-inch with dearly missed New Hampshire band MMOSS.
