Luisa Rose Allen, the British singer better known as Foxes, broke through a few years ago by providing the vocals to “Clarity,” Zedd’s massive EDM crossover hit that helped bring the genre into the mainstream. Now, Foxes are prepping the February release of sophomore album All I Need, and one of its standout tracks features another collab, this time with Bastille’s Dan Smith. On “Better Love,” Foxes finds the sweet spot within tolerable mainstream pop, and it sounds like it should be a hit in various sub genre circles. Smith’s Bastille-like crowd vocal chant helps stabilize the track’s kinetic synth pop energy and further adds to its crossover appeal. It might even be just enough to hold us over while we await the anticipated follow-up to Bastille’s own breakout LP, 2013’s Bad Blood.
