Not too long ago, Boston rock band Hallelujah The Hills unveiled upcoming new album Deluxer Mandatory, a multi-faceted release that commemorates their 10 years as a band complete with reward-heavy crowd funding campaign and an accompanying book on the LP’s recording process.
As that begins to play out, Jah Hills’ focus has shifted to a more immediate concern, releasing a new song today in “It Takes A Somervillage,” a benefit single for the Somerville Homeless Coalition that won’t appear on the new record.
“The SHC povides homeless and near homeless families and individuals with supportive services and housing solutions,” the band writes. “Three-fifths of Hallelujah The Hills live in Somerville, MA, currently. It’s a place we love! We are honored they asked us to do this and hope you enjoy. Please check out the video that Newfangled Studios created where Somerville luminaries sing along with us and raise awareness about the SHC’s tireless, important work.”

Meanwhile, Hallelujah The Hills’ Ryan Walsh and Nkls Ward will be performing tonight at Sound Of Our Town 2 at the Lawn On D, part of Mikey Holland’s American Denim, a Boston supergroup paying tribute to the city’s rich music scene history. The next Hallalujah The Hills show arrives November 13 at Cuisine En Locale in Somerville with Landlady and Eternals.
