Oh heyyyyyyyy, Ryan Adams, you got company.
While everyone is getting understandably worked up over Adams’ 1989 covers project, another band is jumping into the ring of Taylor Swift worship: Los Angeles mall punk quartet Hey Violet.
The band that opened for 5 Seconds of Summer on the Rock Our With Your Socks Out tour, Hey Violet hit up the Troubadour in LA recently to show off a spiky dye-job version of the Tay Tay hit. It’s a pretty catchy, upbeat cover, and watching the video below must be like what old people felt when watching all those ’90s ska-punk bands playing proms in shit in teen movies from 20 years ago. But hey, a good song is a good song.
And as you might expect, Swift loves it.
No, really.
Swift tweeted: I. Love. This. I. Love. @HeyViolet ????????????????????????????”
So fire.
