‘Music has officially died’: Sinéad O’Connor lashes out at Kim Kardashian’s Rolling Stone cover

Sinéad O’Connor is furious over Kim Kardashian’s Rolling Stone cover, and took to Facebook earlier today to bash the music publication.

The Irish singer, who infamously ripped up a picture of the pope on Saturday Night Live in 1992, claims that Rolling Stone has “murdered” music by featuring the reality star and wife of Kanye West on its cover. O’Connor even tells Kim K that she’ll see her next Tuesday.

Yikes!

“What is this cunt doing on the cover of Rolling Stone?” O’Connor asks. “Music has officially died. Who knew it would be Rolling Stone that murdered it? Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh can no longer be expected to take all the blame. Bob Dylan must be fucking horrified.”

She then ends her rant with the hashtag #BoycottRollingStone

As Billboard notes, this isn’t the first time O’Connor has made headlines for lashing out against pop culture figures. In October 2013 she penned a widely-circulated letter to Miley Cyrus, in which she wrote, in part: “I am extremely concerned for you that those around you have led you to believe, or encouraged you in your own belief, that it is in any way ‘cool’ to be naked and licking sledgehammers in your videos. It is in fact the case that you will obscure your talent by allowing yourself to be pimped, whether it’s the music business or yourself doing the pimping.”

Back in 2013, O’Connor blamed the death of music on singing competition show The X Factor. “I feel sorry for the murder of rock ‘n’ roll which has happened because of the industry,” she allegedly said at the time, via the Daily Mail. “Because of Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and the lot of them (talent show judges) have murdered music. They’re murderers of music! I stand and say it on behalf of every musician in the world and they will all agree with it.’

Reached by Billboard, a representative for Kardashian had no comment.
