True story: A few V people headed up to the border of Lynn and Swampscott yesterday to catch some sunrays, chilling out Sunday style at the scenic and lovely King’s Beach. But one of us failed to apply proper suntan lotion, and is now redder than a tasty Lobster kicking it in the back kitchen of Arnold’s. The whole experience is making us watch this new video from Palma Violets with some traumatic flashbacks, though the British band doesn’t seem to be in danger of any significant burns on their beach, the scene for “Girl, You Couldn’t Do Much Better On The Beach.”
The track is the latest cut off May’s Danger In The Club and it’s nice to see the lads stepping out of the dark London venues and into some proper daytime. The clip was directed by Jim Tobias, with post-production by Toto MacDonald, and you can check it out below.
After the intensity of the band’s previous videos, it’s cool to see them say “Hey let’s just go shoot on a beach for this one.”
Meanwhile, Palma Violets currently have a string of European dates scheduled for this month before playing Reading and Leeds festivals in August. A few UK dates closes out the year, so it doesn’t look like the Violets will get back to our country until 2016. Maybe they’ll return in time for beach season.
