Public Order issue a proper belter for youthful escape in ‘Joker’

The world has been exchanging bedroom eyes with Public Order for a hot minute now, but the buzzing Welsh band is primed to ramp up flirtation next month with a simple Hello.

We were first treated a sampling of the boys’ forthcoming EP, out March 28 via Ignition Records, last spring through the skygazing title track, and now get revved up with an anthemic new single out last week called “Joker.” Loaded with the celebratory type of British indie that we all loved when we last felt young and alive, the track is another chapter of emotive guitar-driven storytelling that positions Public Order as one of the more exciting new bands to emerge from across the Atlantic.

“‘Joker’ is a bittersweet snapshot of youth,” the band declares. “It’s about living in the moment, embracing the chaos, the messiness, and the beautiful but fleeting moments. It’s the realization that not everything is meant to last, and that’s okay.”

HELLO, all caps intended, was produced by Jim Abbiss (Arctic Monkeys, Adele), and arrives as the band hit the road across the United Kingdom for the Everyone You Know Tour, and play gigs for Independent Venue Week, the Dot To Dot festival, and a one-off with Razorlight at Caldicot Castle in southeast Wales.
