Mic’d Up: Orlando Baxter takes the good times to the Underground

Editor’s Note: With a brand new year comes new shows, new faces, and a new format for Vanyaland’s recurring weekly live comedy rundown, Mic’d Up. We’ll be hyping club shows, theater and arena gigs, open mics, and whatever else to help fill your free time with some much-needed laughter.

With the star power of Orlando Baxter growing brighter every day, it’s becoming more of a treat any time he’s on home turf for a show. What makes this even more exciting, however, is that he’s bringing it below field level for a midweek throwdown that can fit into all of our budgets.

With one hell of a night on the books this Thursday (January 16), the Worcester native makes his way to Estella’s Underground Comedy Spot for a little bit of midweek decompression, and the venue’s last free admission show. Joining Baxter and his critically-acclaimed storytelling and joke writing chops will be fellow local faces Peter Liu, Jason Fishman, Ren Garcia, and Jamie Aird, who will be serving as the evening’s host.

The comedy at Estella’s isn’t going anywhere, but if you’re looking for a night out that’s easy on the wallet, let Baxter and his friends be the reason you give yourself a free little treat on a cold Thursday in Boston.

ORLANDO BAXTER :: Thursday, January 16 at Estella’s, 49 Temple Place in Boston, MA :: 7:30 p.m., Free admission :: Advance tickets
