Everybody’s at the tip-off gettin’ tipsy. Or at least, that’s what we predict will happen when Shaboozey and Benson Boone perform as part of the “NBA on TNT American Road Show.”

As the NBA tips off its 2024-2025 season on October 22 at TD Garden (where the Celtics will host the New York Knicks), the “NBA on TNT American Express Road Show” will host an opening night “music festival” at City Hall Plaza. The free, family-friendly experience opens to the public at 4:30 p.m., with alt-country emcee Shaboozey (pictured above) scheduled to hit the stage at 7:25, and viral TikTok singer Benson Boone on deck to perform at 10:15. In between, guests can follow the Celtics’ first game of the season via an on-site watch party.

Celtics fans in attendance can enjoy the more basketball-oriented aspects of the event, including a live taping of the NBA-centric podcast “The Deep 3,” a Celtics fan rally, and a live broadcast of Inside the NBA, which features commentators Ernie Johnson, Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith, and Shaquille O’Neal. For music fans who need a little context: Johnson is a longtime sportscaster for TNT Sports, while the latter three commentators are each NBA GOATs in their own right.
