Everyone loves a good sequel. So after G Flip’s first headline tour of the United States went so well, last year’s Drummer Tour, the Australian singer, songwriter, producer, drummer, and musician is back for more in ’24. And the rebooted run has gone so well, tonight’s (June 4) Boston show has since been upgraded to a larger venue, hopping cross-town and landing over at Big Night Live in North Station (it was originally slated for the Paradise Rock Club).
The tour takes its title from G Flip’s album Drummer, and they’re as excited as we are: “We’re adding more U.S. dates to the Drummer Tour!!!! We’re going back to some of our fave cities and playing in new cities we’ve never been to. I’ve had the time of my life on this tour and can’t thank everyone enough for making my dreams come true. I love meeting you all on the road so I’m so excited to be offering VIP tickets for the first time ever! I can’t wait to hang with all of you and have a little sing and dance with all of you at the shows. We’re going to make some cheeky changes to the set and bring you all the best show we possibly can.”
Since we first hyped this appearance back in December, G Flip has dropped a new EP titled Drumless, which featured re-worked versions of the album tracks. “I love covering and rearranging songs so I did it for my own songs off Drummer but reproduced them and made them ‘drumless’,” they write on Insta. “Hope you like hearing these cheeky songs in a new light. …Love all you beautiful humans”.
Bang on.
