Isabel LaRosa, September 17
Massachusetts is getting a quick glimpse at the future of alt–pop this weekend when Isabel LaRosa appears at the Kiss 108 Kiss Concert starring Doja Cat, Jason DeRulo, Shinedown, and others. But we’ll be getting a proper up-close view of the viral sensation this fall when the teenage Cuban-American artist from Maryland performs live at Allston’s Brighton Music Hall on September 17. LaRosa first blew up on TikTok, where her cinematic songs earned a massive following, and now enjoys more than 21 million monthly listeners on Spotify. “My music seems to create a dark, emotional, but also powerful world,” LaRosa tells The Luna Collective. “I want people to be able to feel a part of the sonic world through applying their own experiences to the feeling it brings them. The visual atmosphere is a dark, slightly menacing world that we’ve only seen the surface of. Every song just uncovers another layer.” Tickets go on sale Friday (May 31) at 10 a.m. local time.
