Editor’s Note: We’re not sure how it’s already March, but let us help you stave off your own madness this month by reminding you that comedy is continuing to do the Lord’s work by giving us something to smile (or groan, wince, or gasp) at. With homegrown talent, national headliners, and open mics galore highlighting the calendar, the plethora of powerful comedy throughout the commonwealth continues to show up, night after night. Enter Mic’d Up, our ongoing weekly series that details the best live comedy shows to consider as you head out and about. Below, find our rundown for this week, through Sunday (March 24).
Jordan Jensen at Laugh Boston
There’s nothing quite like a little untethered comedy fun, and Jordan Jensen delivers just that with a laid back demeanor and precise execution. There are many elements that have made Jensen such a dominant player in the comedy game, but it’s arguably her ability to not give a single fuck about keeping things within the lines that takes her shows from “really good” to “great.”
JORDAN JENSEN :: Thursday, March 21 to Saturday, March 23 at Laugh Boston, 425 Summer St. in Boston, MA :: Times vary, $33 :: Advance tickets
Lewis Black at The Wilbur
All endings have to start somewhere, and the “Yeller Brick Road” is making its first pass through Boston. A bonafide living legend, Lewis Black continues his long, pissed off goodbye to the touring life with one night of white hot rage and genuine hilarity. If you can’t catch him this time around, though, don’t worry. He’s back in town in September to take one final Boston bow.

The Roast of Worcester at The White Room

Doug Guertin, Molly O’Connor, Bill Shaner and more as they put their beloved, filthy, beautiful city to the fire in the name of a good cause.

With a long line of history tracing all the way back to the stand-up contest at the 2010 Boston Comedy Festival, “The Tennessee Kid” brings his biggest tour yet to the city for another etching in the Boston Comedy history books, while continuing his low-key reign as one of the most likable and creatively potent comedians in the game today.
