Kevin Gates, The Ceremony Tour, April 3
It’s wild to think it’s been nearly a decade since Kevin Gates first rang us up with “2 Phones,” a track that still hasn’t lost its fire after all these years. But the multi-platinum Louisiana rapper, who got started in the game long before that, has never rested on his laurels. Gates now heads out on a headlining tour this spring in support of his new album, The Ceremony, and the run includes an April 3 stop at Citizens House of Blues in Boston. The Ceremony continues to showcase a fruitful relationship between the musician and label. “This alliance between us is great,” Gates says. “Atlantic allows me to embrace new challenges like stepping outside of myself and out of my comfort zone. That’s encouraged me to be a better songwriter and artist. Having my own label, I wanted to learn how to successfully run a label. Why not learn from one of the most successful in the game?” Tickets go on sale Friday (February 2) at 10 a.m. local time.
