Look, we’re trying very hard to not cover every little thing The Last Dinner Party does. The band who captured the 2023 Song of the Year (“Nothing Matters”) and will likely own 2024’s Album of the Year (next month’s debut effort Prelude To Ecstasy) are living up to all that early buzz, making news here in the States with an appearance in April at Coachella and a performance last week on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.
And as we all hoped when we first saw their band moniker on the Coachella poster, The Last Dinner Party have unveiled a 20-date North American tour, leading up to and around the festival, as well as a handful of summer dates. Relative to our interests here in Boston is a March 24 twirl at Royale in the Theatre District — a fitting spot for one of the more theatrical bands to come out of London in ages.
Tickets go on sale this Friday (January 26) at 10 a.m. local time. Head to thelastdinnerparty.com for info.
“Ecstasy is a pendulum which swings between the extremes of human emotion, from the ecstasy of passion to the sublimity of pain, and it is this concept which binds our album together,” the band declares. “This is an archeology of ourselves; you can exhume our collective and individual experiences and influences from within its fabric. We exorcised guitars for their solos, laid bare confessions directly from diary pages, and summoned an orchestra to bring our vision to life.”
And now, after a short run of dates last fall, they bring it to far corners of North America. Get all the dates below, and watch The Late Show performance after the tour-date jump.
