Any time a critically-acclaimed artist sets their coordinates for Boston, it’s exciting. But when that critically-acclaimed artist just also happens to be a native of the area, like in the case of Ziwe? Well hell, that’s just exponentially cooler.

Making her way home tonight (November 29), the Lawrence native heads to The Wilbur as part of The Black Friend Tour. Whether it’s on stage or on your TV screen, the multi-talented comedian, writer and actress has amassed quite a following with her upfront and bluntly honest commentary on race and politics, and as a result of her two-season run as host of her eponymous late-night variety sketch show, Ziwe and her YouTube series, Baited.

This past October, she also released her first book, Black Friend: Essays, which has gone to be a best-selling title.

ZIWE: THE BLACK FRIEND TOUR :: Wednesday, November 29 at The Wilbur Theatre, 246 Tremont St. in Boston, MA :: 6:30 p.m., $35 to $55 :: Advance Tickets
