The Los Angeles-based boutique “for the dark hearts” has carved out a physical space in Salem, adding to Witch City’s bubbling notoriety as an alt-fashion hotspot. The shop takes residence inside fellow gothic fashion retailer Die With Your Boots On, located in downtown Salem on Church Street (pictured above).
FOXBLOOD’s initiation into Salem’s high society begins tonight (September 8) with a giveaway-packed launch party than runs from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Customers who swing by on Saturday — the shop’s official grand opening — can purchase $100 in FOXBLOOD merch to earn a surprise gift. A sample sale between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Sunday caps off the weekend-long festivities.
A video preview posted to Instagram reveals that the new store is already stocking a spooky slew of Halloween attire, featuring clothing patterned with skeletons, spiderwebs, and neon creepy crawlies (notably from the brand’s glow-in-the-dark collection).
FOXBLOOD’s arrival from the West Coast solidifies the fact that Salem is enticing an increasing number of freaky fashionistas. As Vanyaland reported last year, Die With Your Boots On recently expanded to include upscale sister store The Ossuary — located on Pickering Wharf — and SoCal’s BlackCraft Cult landed in downtown Salem last summer as well, forming an “unholy trinity” of gothic clothing shops.
